OEE is:

o Based on the idea that people learn through experiences and that learners construct their own knowledge; a hands-on approach

o Curriculum places classroom knowledge into practice in the real world

o Promotes the well-being of individuals, communities and the environment

o Promotes good group dynamics and highlights leadership of individuals

o Involves physical activity while also providing social and emotional challenges

o Appeals to all senses (audio, visual, smell, touch and taste)

o Knowledge is already inside of the learner, and the educator exists merely to facilitate

o Usually in a natural, outdoor setting
