Includes but is not limited to information about: adults with learning disabilities, behavior and/or social skills, IEP’s, homework help, self-esteem and stress management, nonverbal learning disorders and home schooling. This website also includes information for parents and teachers about English Language Learners who have a learning disability including best practices of teaching children with learning disabilities and strategies to use. It discusses everything from teasing to children who have cancer and includes sections especially for teachers, parents and their siblings. There are lots of stories and artwork written by children suffering from the many diseases and disorders discussed in this page. Includes information for teachers on how to teach with a kid who has to be out of the classroom a lot due to their illness and you can even take a hospital tour so the rest of your kids can get to know where their friend is. There are also freebies that are for kids specifically with medical conditions. Also includes stories from parents, kids and general motivational stories to keep the spirit up. www.aboutourkids.org A frequently updated website that gives information regarding a variety of needs/issues children have from depression to severe handicaps. Relevant articles that are beneficial including a special “Back to School” section that discusses the various transition issues children may have based from their disabilities including the change from summer to school in the fall. A great source for both teachers and parents. The site includes information for children aged pre-K through college aged.
