What are the Emotional Resources of Poverty?

These resources include: "Being able to choose and control emotional responses, particularly to negative situations, without engaging in self-destructive behavior.  This is an internal resource and shows itself through stamina, perseverance, and choices."

  • Poverty is a risk factor that can lead to violence; however, many times violent behavior is the result of several risk factors appearing in a situation, instead of just one.  Examples include abuse, neglect, and poor environments.
